Enforcement/Modification

The end result of a divorce or paternity action culminates into a Final Judgment.  The Final Judgment is a court order finalizing your case.  The Judgment must be followed or you may be held in contempt of court.  If a party is non-compliant with an order or an agreement that has been adopted/ratified into an order, there are steps that can be taken to “enforce” the order.

You must be very careful not to find yourself in a situation where you are deemed non-compliant.   If you are having difficulty adhering to an agreement or order you may want to explore asking the court to “modify” the agreement or order.
